Dr. Roselyne David Nyakona has earned recognition for her outstanding dedication to human rights, particularly in combating gender-based violence and promoting women’s rights, justice, and equality. Her work reflects deep compassion, resilience, and an unyielding belief in fairness for all.

For years, Dr. Nyakona has worked closely with survivors of gender-based violence, offering them guidance, legal support, and hope. She partners with local organizations, law enforcement, and health institutions to strengthen prevention and response systems. Through these collaborations, she ensures that survivors access justice and that their voices are heard.

In addition, Dr. Nyakona conducts awareness campaigns that challenge cultural barriers and social stigmas surrounding women’s rights. She engages men and boys in conversations about equality, fostering inclusive attitudes that promote lasting change. Moreover, she trains community leaders on gender-sensitive practices to help prevent violence before it occurs.
